Tests have proven the adequate strength of Lava™ zirconium oxide for this indication. Nevertheless, there may be high failure risk for this indication through debonding and secondary caries irrespective of the manufacturer. Initial situation: faulty all-cast metal crowns on teeth 26 and 27, faulty composite filling of teeth 23, 24 and 25.

Figure 2 & 3:

Final result: Monolithic single crowns of Lava™ Plus highly translucent zirconium oxide on teeth 25, 26 and 27. The desired tooth colour for the restorations was achieved with the corresponding Lava™ Plus highly translucent zirconium oxide staining solution. The individual finish is with Lava™ Plus highly translucent effect dyes. Teeth 23 and 24 were restored with Filtek™ Supreme XTE.
